Class Descriptions
Morning Flow
This is a gentle flow class appropriate for all levels. We will move mindfully through a traditional hatha yoga sequence keeping our focus on our breath and our awareness on the energy that this moving through our body. My intention for this class is to guide you in opening your hearts to a new day, feeling the love and compassion that moves through our bodies, and identifying the power we have within ourselves to allow that energy to flow beyond the boundaries of their bodies helping to create a more peaceful experience on Earth.
Pilates
Pilates offers an approach to strength and flexibility training with exercises created to strengthen abdominal and back muscles while developing pelvic stability and abdominal control. A great compliment to any yoga practice, it promotes ease and efficiency of movement through focused, slow, careful and controlled exercise. The mind/body awareness developed in Pilates will improve your posture and form in all areas of your fitness program. All levels welcome. Will add to schedule with interest.
Yin Yoga
The ancient practice of yin yoga provides the perfect balance to your active (yang) flow yoga practice and your active life. Focusing on long-held floor poses combined with breath work and meditation, yin yoga goes beneath the superficial muscles to target the dense connective tissues of the body – often in the hips, pelvis, and low back – which are difficult to open and can result in both limited flexibility and stagnant energy. This deep practice is gentle, yet intense, helping students not only to open the body, but also to cultivate the ability to observe and stay with sensation. All levels welcome.
Yin/Yang Yoga
This class combines the receptive, quieter practice of Yin Yoga with the more active, rhythmic movement of a Yang flow. Within this blend we will mobilize all areas of the body, from the deep connective tissue which stabilizes our joints to the more surface level muscles and facia. We will also learn to steady our minds through Pranayama (breathing) and mindfulness meditation. All levels welcome.
Hatha Yoga
Open to all levels and recommended for all, our soothing class focuses on an exploration of basic yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. Therapeutic in nature, you will learn techniques to help you gain flexibility, while immersing yourself in a relaxing class that moves at a perfectly slower pace - allowing ample time to enjoy each pose. Expect lots of deep stretching & lingering in yummy floor poses. Meditation and relaxation techniques will also be introduced, perfect for stress relief and overall well being. All levels welcome.
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga is a comprehensive system that includes postures, kriyas, breathwork, mudras, mantras, and more. Class begins with a warm-up, emphasizing rhythmic movements and asanas. This is followed by a Kriya – a specific sequence of exercises designed to optimize the body’s systems and harmonize it’s energies. Each Kriya has a focus – cleansing the liver, calming the nerves, strengthening the heart, alleviating anger, etc. Every Kundalini Yoga class helps balance all the chakras and systems. Class winds down with integrative deep relaxation, and a short pranayama or mantra meditation. Kundalini Yoga is appropriate for all levels and ages. This class is instructed as taught by Yogi Bhajan.
Restorative Yoga & Meditation
This class combines warm ups with yin yoga a restorative practice. We will also have a guided mindfulness meditation using crystals followed by a deep relaxation.
Meditation Class
Meditation is the art of opening to each moment with calm awareness. Would you like to reduce stress and improve your health and well-being? Well this class would be perfect for you. Just know that the benefits of meditation are endless, so come see how it can work for you. The purpose of this group is to help you experience the joy of meditation in a relaxed and supportive space.
Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga is a lovely alternative to a more active practice on days when you are feeling like you need a little TLC. If you have never tried it, you'll be surprised how much stretching you can do when it seems like you are just lying around.
Only by letting go can expansion happen. Being fully supported by blankets and bolsters for several minutes in each posture can we release, open and expand to let go. Restorative Yoga postures allow gravity, stillness and our own life-force to cleanse and purify all of our vital organs through the power of "BEING" rather than doing.
This class is appropriate for all levels and no experience is needed.
Belly, Mind & Spirit (Yoga for Abs)
Want to find your inner strength and power? In this class we will connect to our core and apply the workings of the abs to our Yoga Poses. Connecting to the core we will find not only strength but a sense of empowerment, lightness and ease in our Yoga. Discover the difference for yourself! It's "abs"olutely f"ab"ulous!!!
Candlelight Yoga
Experience the meditative focus and intensity of bringing fire into your yoga practice! Come have a mellow, meditative evening class in a darkened room illuminated by candlelight. Perfect for relieving stress or anxiety, while the soothing music and soft glow of the candles allow you to feel at ease and blissful.
All classes are unique, what a perfect way to end your work week and begin your weekend. This is a mixed level class.
Gentle Vinyasa Flow Will guide you to explore and discover your unique internal rhythm and flow. You will be encouraged to honor your body and breathe with movement as you embrace your divine flow. This class also includes gentle stretches and a sweet relaxation.
Yoga w/Weights - will warm you to your core, light your inner fire, and tone your outer body.
Using light weights (optional) we will combine repetitive movements within basic yoga poses to generate internal heat while strengthening and lengthening your muscles.
Specific muscle groups will be targeted making your body toned while keeping good, healthy alignment. The goal is to tone the muscles in an even, balanced way without injury.
The major core muscles will be strengthened including abdominals, back, hip, and shoulder muscles. This class will also help lengthen muscles as you build strength and find your inner balance. There will be upbeat music to inspire you to find your compassionate edge. Savasana, the relaxation pose at the end of class, will seem Super Sweet!
Mix it up
In the ambience of candlelight, come enjoy this Mix it up yoga class. Each class will incorporate a different genre of music.
Class will begin with a pranayama then a slow-moving practice of poses that flow sweetly into one another a couple of restorative yoga poses using blankets, blocks or bolsters ending with a guided meditation
Somewhere in the Mix will be some sort of sound vibration...... Come experience your Bliss!
